In 1988 I bought my first home. Even though I had an excellent real estate agent, I found the whole process to be very confusing and unsettling. I kept wondering whether I was truly buying the right house at the right price. I felt that there must be a better way to serve real estate clients. In 1990, I got my real estate broker’s license to prove I was right.
My goal as a broker was to empower buyers and sellers with as much market information as possible. This included “lending” them my Multiple Listing Service book (the Internet had not yet taken hold) so my clients could know all the same property listing information as me. Within just a couple of years I became one the very top producing brokers in one of the country’s most expensive real estate markets. Then the Internet started taking off.
I knew the Internet could help support my clients growing demands, but I couldn’t find any programs or websites that served the agent-client relationship. In the late 90’s the web was awash with agent-sites touting how they were ‘number one,’ and brokerage-sites offering limited access to listings in an attempt to generate sales leads. Nowhere was I able to find a collaborative environment with the trusted data and tools my clients were demanding. So I decided to invent it myself.
The Internet boom provided the funds and talent to help create the great CleanOffer product that we have today. We strive to provide the most trusted Real Estate information and tools to support agents and their clients in making intelligent real estate decisions.
